Growing up in a small town in mid-Missouri, my mom's soft, delicious, homemade chocolate chip cookies made an appearance at every community occasion. Of course I learned to make these cookies at a young age and have carried on the tradition of bringing fresh, homemade cookies to any gathering, no matter where I lived. 

I didn't think anything of sending a batch of cookies to my husband's work gathering in the fall of 2010. At the prodding of my husband's coworkers and a few other friends, I am starting Basic Cookies so others in the area can enjoy soft, delicious, homemade, old-fashioned cookies whenever they want!

All cookies are made fresh to order by me using the same delicious ingredients friends and neighbors have enjoyed for over 30 years. They are not vegan or gluten-free, but they're ridiculously delicious and worth every bite. Of course they're addicting as well, so prepare yourself to eat a full dozen on your own!
